Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd., trading as Foxconn is a Taiwanese multinational electronics contract manufacturer. Foxconn is the world’s largest provider of electronics manufacturing services and the third-largest information technology company by revenue. The company is the largest private employer in Taiwan and one of the largest employers worldwide with over 800,000 employees.
Foxconn worked with syo to identify sponsor users for product candidates and to collect feedback from large enterprise as well as SME customers. Together with the responsible product manager and development team we deployed Enterprise Design Thinking practices to ensure the development work will deliver on customer expectations and meet the needs of potential customers, industries, and partners.
By deploying a strategic approach, we did help Foxconn to minimise product development risk and cost. We engaged in a feedback loop with the team to optimise product specifications and design based on user feedback.
We did support the Foxconn team with the following product management tasks:
Design Research
- Seek user insights and feedback
- Test prototypes and review ideas
- Find and seek feedback from Sponsor Users
Synthesis
- Define und understand customer pain points.
- Recognise, resolve, and review assumptions
Scoping
- Evaluate solutions based on their value to customers
For the team it was essential to understand the market size for the product candidates and to build an early- stage sales pipeline. Our unique market access and expertise enabled the Foxconn team to validate the business case, review assumptions about the go-to-market and assess the revenue opportunity.
